DESCRIPTION: WW - Zenith El Primero Chronograph, ref A384, automatic, 37mm x 47mm to lug tips, 20mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with sunburst finish bezel and chamfered sides, stainless steel ladder bracelet with fold over clasp signed Zenith by Gay Freres, original white "tropical" panda dial with applied silver indices, outer tachymeter scale painted in white with the background aging to a chocolate brown, date aperture at 5, three inset subregisters faded from black to chocolate brown for minute recording, hour recording and subsidiary seconds, 31J El Primero cal 3019, s#903D791, triple signed. A lovely preserved example of one of the greatest chronograph movements ever made.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, complete overhaul in January of 2022, chronograph functions and resets properly, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition, hardly any oxide to steelwork, very light fine scratches to rotor; excellent dial with light surface spotting most notably on minute recording subregister and hour recorder, light fine scratches on subsidiary seconds as well as at dial center; lightly spotted hands, red paint missing on chronograph sweep; unpolished case shows very little wear, still retains all of its original factory finishing, several light dings on bezel and lugs; replacement crown shows little wear; good plastic crystal.
